Most of us want to progress and achieve at work to gain a higher status and financial reward. Well, if you suffer with low self esteem, you now know where you want to go.
So where are you now and what are the symptoms of low self esteem?
Many people with low self esteem will always blame others for their lot in life. You will hear things like "I never got a lucky break at work" or "everyone else seems to get all the luck other than me!" They feel that life is totally against them and there is nothing they can do but accept it. This is one of the classic symptoms of low self esteem.
Denial is also a trait of low self esteem. Not admitting or accepting they may have a problem will always keep them locked right where they are now. It’s a vicious circle, you want to progress and change your life around but don’t have the courage to break out of your comfort zone to face your fears.
Lack of confidence, feelings of insecurity and shyness can also stem from low self esteem. Insecure people often have the urge to become perfectionists. It is their way of dealing with their insecure feelings but also goes back to blame and denial. The problem is, when things don’t go as planned, their self esteem sinks lower and the cycle continues over and over again.
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms of low self esteem you must take action today and face up to your fears. If you don’t start building your self esteem long term problems such as depression and anxiety can result.
